उत्तर

Energy plays a critical role in remote sensing because it is the source of the electromagnetic radiation that sensors detect. Without energy, whether it is emitted by the Earth or Sun (like visible light, infrared, and microwave), no information could be captured by remote sensing instruments. The amount and type of energy emitted or reflected by features on the Earth’s surface provide clues about their physical and chemical properties. For instance, healthy vegetation reflects more near-infrared light, while water absorbs more infrared energy.

Thus, energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation enables remote sensing to measure and monitor changes and patterns in the Earth’s surface features.
