What is the difference between a bye and leg bye in cricket?

1.	Definition	Runs are scored when the ball passes the batsman without touching the bat or any part of his body.	Runs are scored when the ball hits the batsman's body (rather than the bat) and he takes a run.
2.	Contact with Body	The ball does not make contact with the bat or the batsman's body.	The ball contacts any part of the batsman's body except the hands that hold the bat.
3.	Scoring	Runs are credited to the team as "byes" rather than the batsman.	Runs are credited to the team as "leg byes" rather than the batsman.
4.	Legality	Can be taken as long as the ball passes through the wicketkeeper and the batsman runs.	Only allowed if the batsman was attempting a valid shot or trying to avoid being hit.
