Binding energy per nucleon It is the average energy, that we have to spend to remove a nucleon from the nucleus to infinite distance. It is given by total binding energy divided by the mass number of the nucleus.

Binding energy per nucleon (`bar "B"`), for nucleus containing (A) nucleons with binding energy (B.E.), is given as,

`bar"B" = "B.E."//"A"`
