The purpose of these transfers is to correct mistakes in personnel placement and selection. For instance, an employee may be moved to the appropriate position if he is inadvertently assigned to one for which he is unfit. Employee performance and job happiness will both benefit from this. A person should be moved to the appropriate position if they are not a good fit for it. Through appropriate matching of job requirements and employee credentials, remedial transfers also enable the company to make better use of its human resources.
