A tract of land between two rivers is called a doab. It is made up of two words ‘do’ meaning ‘two’ and ab meaning ‘water’.

A Doab is the land between two rivers. The term “doab” comes from the Persian words do (two) and ab (water). It is a fertile area formed by the deposition of alluvium from rivers on both sides.
