उत्तर

  1. As the Mughal Empire expanded, more land came under the control of the Mughal state.
  2. This increased the amount of agricultural land from which revenue could be collected.
  3. More villages and peasants became part of the Mughal revenue system.
  4. The state could therefore collect more land revenue, which became an important source of income for the empire.
  5. The expansion also required more officials, records and administration to assess and collect revenue from different regions.
  6. In newly conquered areas, the Mughal state had to bring local landholders and zamindars under its revenue system.

Thus, the expansion of the Mughal Empire increased both the amount of land revenue and the need for a stronger revenue administration.
