Following first aid should be provided for burns/scalds:

1. Minor Burns:

   1. Pour plenty of cold water immediately over it.

   2. Apply an anti-burn ointment.

   3. Immediate home remedies:

      1. Apply baking soda mixed with water

      2. Apply the paste of turmeric and milk

      3. Apply the paste of raw potato

2. Severe Burns:
   1. In case the clothes of a person catch fire, cover the person with a blanket and make the person roll over the ground in order to put out the fire.
   2. Make the person lie down in an open space.
   3. Remove the burnt clothes that are not sticking to the body.
   4. Give him plenty of water to drink.
   5. Apply anti-burn ointment on the burn.
