उत्तर
An oasis is a wet, fertile spot in an otherwise dry desert where groundwater, springs, or artesian flow reaches the surface and supplies reliable water that supports concentrated vegetation, often date palms, and allows small farms, irrigation, and settled communities to exist. The water that feeds oases comes from underground aquifers recharged by past or distant rainfall and appears as springs or is accessed by wells, making oases important ecological refuges and historically vital stops for trade routes and local agriculture; some oases have perennial water while others are seasonal or depend on human-managed wells and channels.
