I collected information from nature programmes on channels such as National Geographic and Discovery. I learned that many different plants and animals live around us.

• Plants: Mango, neem, banyan, peepal, coconut, bamboo, rose and tulsi are commonly found in our surroundings. They provide us with food, oxygen, medicines, wood and shade.
• Animals: Dogs, cats, cows, goats, squirrels, birds, butterflies and insects are commonly seen around us. They help maintain the balance of nature.
• Birds and insects: Birds help in seed dispersal, while bees and butterflies help in pollination.
• Importance: Plants and animals depend on one another and together form an important part of our environment.
