उत्तर
Sample observation report (Replace these details with what you actually observe at the farm.)
| Aspect | Observation |
|---|---|
| Breeds | The farm may have improved crossbred birds, such as commercial layer or broiler strains. White Leghorn is a commonly used egg-laying breed; Rhode Island Red is a dual-purpose breed. |
| Ration | Growers: measured feed to support healthy growth. Layers: calculated feed containing vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. Broilers: protein-rich feed with adequate fat and sufficient vitamins A and K to support rapid growth. |
| Housing | Sheds should be clean, dry and well ventilated, with enough space to prevent overcrowding and reduce the risk of disease. |
| Lighting | Layers should receive adequate lighting because light intensity and duration affect egg production. |
| Incubator facilities | If available, an incubator or hatchery is used for controlled hatching. The equipment should be clean and properly managed. |
Identifying the birds
- Growers: young birds in the growing phase, before sexual maturity.
- Layers: mature hens kept for egg production; they begin laying at about 20 weeks.
- Broilers: chickens reared for meat and generally marketed at about 6–7 weeks.
Assessment: Management is likely to be proper and adequate if birds have suitable space, clean and ventilated housing, appropriate feed for their type and stage, adequate lighting for layers, and hygienic disease-prevention and hatching facilities. Any overcrowding, dirty housing, unsuitable feed or poor lighting should be noted as areas needing improvement.
