At first, Ramlal and his wife did not want to send Bholi to school. They were worried about what people would say and feared that no one would marry her in the future. However, when the Tehsildar Sahib asked Ramlal to set an example by sending his daughter to school, he agreed unwillingly. He thought that since Bholi was not considered beautiful, she was unlikely to get married, so sending her to school was a better option.
