उत्तर
The language used at my home is Hindi, which has a very rich collection of travel literature. One of the most famous travel writers in Hindi is Rahul Sankrityayan. A well-known account he wrote is Meri Laddakh Yatra, which details his challenging journey to the high-altitude region of Ladakh.
During his journey, the traveller visited remote mountain regions, including the towns of Kargil and Leh. He travelled through difficult terrains to reach isolated Buddhist monasteries located on steep cliffs, documenting the geographical landscape of the cold desert.
He saw the unique lifestyle, traditional clothing, and food habits of the local people living in freezing weather conditions. He also observed ancient religious manuscripts, beautiful paintings, and unique architecture inside the monasteries.
He wrote this account to document Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage and history for people who could not visit. He also wanted to provide a detailed geographical guide to help and inspire future explorers travelling to the region.
