Following four measures could be taken by the government to control air pollution:

- Use odd-even methodology to control private vehicles mostly during the winter season.
- Government should strictly implement the use of ESP in all plants and industries where gaseous pollutants generate more.
- Industrial areas near the city should be phased out with time by providing a special economic zone at the outskirts of the city and closing down old highly polluting industries.
