Powers of the Vice President as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha are as follows:

1. The Vice President of India acts as the ex officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and presides over its meetings.
2. In this role, he/she regulates the order for speeches and controls House discussions and proceedings.
3. In a case of grave disorder, he/she has the authority to suspend or delay the House’s proceedings and determine whether a resolution or questions are admissible.
4. He/she issues instructions to the chairmen of several committees on everything related to their work.
