The perimeter of a square field = the distance around a square field
⇒ 4 × side = length of 200 rods
⇒ 4 × side = 200 × 140 cm ...[∵ The length of the rod = 140 cm]
⇒ Side = `(200 xx 140)/4` cm
⇒ Side = 7000 cm = `7000/100` m = 70 m
∴ The side of the field = 70 m
