उत्तर

Given:

5x2 − 3x − 2 = 0

Multiply a × c

a = 5, b = −3, c = −2

a × c

= 5 × (−2)

= −10

Split the middle term

+2 and −5

Rewrite and factor

5x2 − 5x + 2x − 2 = 0

(5x2 − 5x) + (2x − 2) = 0

5x(x − 1) + 2(x − 1) = 0

(x − 1) (5x + 2) = 0

x − 1 = 0

⇒ x = 1

5x + 2 = 0

⇒ x = `-2/5`

x = 1 or x = `−5/2`
