Let m₁ be the slope of the line x – 2y – 7 = 0.

∴ m₁ = `(-"coefficient of x")/"coefficient of y" = (-1)/(-2) = 1/2`

Let m₂ be the slope of the line 2x − 4y + 15 = 0 .

∴ m₂ = `(-"coefficient of x")/"coefficient of y" = (-2)/(-4) = 1/2`

Since m₁ = m₂,

the given lines are parallel to each other.
