Tiger Attacks 8 Year Old at Rajiv Gandhi National Park
- Miss Amisha Patel, Student Reporter
Mumbai, 2nd January 2019
In yet another incident at Rajiv Gandhi National Park, an 8-year old was attacked by a tiger yesterday morning. The boy escaped with minimal injuries but was truly shaken by the incident.
The incident occurred while the boy was visiting the national park with his parents. While at the tiger enclosure, the boy got a little too close to the railing and fell in. The tiger inside the enclosure scratched him with his paws. But before he could do some real damage, the authorities stepped in and managed to get the tiger away from the boy. The boy was safely taken out of the enclosure and given first-aid. He was later taken to the hospital where doctors assured him that his injuries were not severe. This is the third such incident that has happened this year. Earlier this year, two men were attacked by a tiger in the same National Park. It is really time to question whether the park authorities are doing their job efficiently. If necessary safety measures aren’t taken soon enough, then the lives of the visitors shall remain at risk.
