उत्तर

According to the “Do this” activity in the chapter Sources of History, you have to collect powadas and tribal songs and present them in your school’s cultural programme. The chapter includes powadas and folk/tribal songs as examples of oral sources of history.

Presentation of Powadas and Tribal Songs

We collected various powadas and tribal songs and presented them in our school’s cultural programme. Powadas were sung to highlight the bravery and heroic deeds of great historical personalities, such as Tanaji Malusare and Shivaji Maharaj. We also presented tribal songs that reflected the traditions, culture and daily life of tribal communities.

This activity helped us understand that powadas, folk songs and tribal songs are important oral sources of history. They preserve information about the life, culture, traditions and historical events of the past and pass it from one generation to another.
