Respected teachers and my dear friends. A very good morning to one and all and a very happy teacher's day to all the teachers of our school. Today, I, Navita, have been handed this golden opportunity to speak on the role of a teacher in the society.
Someone has rightly said, ‘Teachers affect eternity, no one can tell where their influence stops.’ As we look back, we realise that in the course of our lives, we have come across teachers who have inspired us, guided us and acted as mentors and helped us to climb up the steep learning curve. Teachers have played a vital role in society right from the ancient times. They are responsible for all the progress that the world had made today. It is a teacher behind a doctor, astronomer, economist and even a politician. His/her sole purpose in life is to light the candle of knowledge, irrespective of the religion, sex or status of the learner. The importance of a techer in society cannot be negated or ignored.
On this day, I pay my heartfelt tribute to all the teachers who have ever touched my life and influenced it even in the minutest way. Thank you teachers for making me what I am today and for being responsible for what I will be tomorrow.
