Subject: Implementation of compulsory fitness and nutrition programmes in schools.
Respected Sir,
I am writing to express my serious concern about the growing problem of obesity among children and adolescents. Obesity has become a global health issue, and recent studies indicate that 39 percent of people worldwide are overweight, while 13 percent are obese. One major reason for this alarming trend is the lack of physical fitness programmes and extracurricular activities in schools.
Unhealthy eating habits and excessive screen time are further affecting the physical and mental well-being of students. I strongly request the Ministry of Health to introduce compulsory fitness and nutrition programmes at the school level. Regular physical education, awareness about healthy diets, and strict monitoring of junk food consumption can help inculcate healthy habits from an early age.
Such initiatives will ensure a healthier future for the younger generation. I sincerely hope the authorities will take immediate action in this regard.
Yours sincerely,
Sumit
