उत्तर

Luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating hormone (FSH) are the main gonadotropins produced in humans.

  1. Functions of LH:
    • In males: LH acts on the Leydig cells and stimulates the secretion of testosterone.
    • In females: LH induces ovulation by releasing the ovum from the mature Graafian follicle and also helps in the formation of the corpus luteum.
  2. Functions of FSH:
    • In males: FSH stimulates the production of sperms.
    • In females: FSH promotes the growth of the Graafian follicle and helps in the secretion of estrogen.
