उत्तर

  1. 3000-metre run: The 3000-meter run is mostly an indoor event and part of the World Indoor Championships, but it is also held outside. The 3000 represents the start of long-distance events, while the 1500 and mile are considered medium distance races. Runners start on a slightly curved line, with a larger curve on smaller indoor tracks. There are no lanes, thus the start is primarily a competition for a preferred position on the track.
  2. 5000-metre run: In a 5000-meter race, competitors start on a curving line and can run wherever on the track, resulting in a vast first pack that can span three to four lanes, depending on the number of runners. Distance races are tactical events, however competitors at this distance and above tend to run at their own pace for the most of the race instead of responding to opponents.
  3. 10,000-metre run: The 10,000-meter run is the longest track event, beginning with a curving starting line and without lanes. Jockeying for place at the start is less significant because to the longer distance. Competitors must be aware of their own pace, similar to the 5,000 race. Running on the inside line is safer for elite runners as slower competitors drop off the pace as the event develops, resulting in fewer runners competing for position in the final laps.
