उत्तर
While money is a powerful motivator, particularly in meeting fundamental necessities such as shelter, food, and security, it is not the only thing that drives employee motivation. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of requirements, after lower-level requirements (such as physiological and safety) are met through salary and financial advantages, higher-level needs develop, such as belonging, esteem, and self-actualization.
Reasons Why Money Alone Is Not Enough:
- Satisfies Only Basic Needs: Money only fulfills basic demands, such as physiological and safety, and loses its motivational value beyond that.
- Lack of Recognition Demotivates: Employees want non-monetary motivations like recognition, respect, and acknowledgement, which might lead to demotivation.
- Growth and Development Matter: Opportunities for promotion, training, and skill growth motivate employees beyond money.
- Work Culture and Environment: Maintaining long-term motivation requires a supportive work environment, strong leadership, and effective teamwork.
- Emotional and Social Needs: Emotional and social needs include a sense of belonging and purpose at work, which cannot be met simply through financial means.
