Directive Principles based on Gandhi’s ideals are:
- The State shall promote with special care the educational and economic interests of the weaker sections of the people, and in particular the interests of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.
- The State shall endeavour to promote cottage industries in rural areas.
- To form Village Panchayats and provide them appropriate powers and authority.
- To restrict intoxicating drinks and medications that harm health.
