Mention some compulsory equipments used in cricket.

The players use some important gear and equipment while playing the game.

1. Bat: Bat is a nicely carved equipment made out of special wood (generally English Willow the other material used is Kashmir Willow),
2. Ball: It is spherical object made out of cork and covered with leather. Two pieces of leather are stitched around the cork ball.
3. Keeper Glove: Cloth and leather are stitched together in the shape of fingers and palm to fit exactly. The inner-side of the glove has finger gaps with cork tips for more protection.
4. Batsman Glove: Typically consisting of a leather palm and back made of nylon or another synthetic fabric. This glove is smaller and softer on the outer part when compared to keeper glove. It is used to hold the bat firmly. The finger part of glove has extra protection with hard sponge on the outer area.
5. Keeper/Batsman Pads: They are made with cloth and leather. The front portion of the pads is very hard as there is hard plastic or wood sticks beneath. The rear portion is spongy and soft to soothe and comfort legs. Keeper pads are little shorter than batsman pads.
6. Helmet: A head gear for the batsman/Keeper while batting or wicket-keeping the stumps. It is a mix of metal and hard plastic. It has a metallic grill in the front to protect the face.
7. Stumps and Bails: They are usually made of wood, most commonly ash, and together form a wicket at each end of the pitch.
8. Abdominal guard or "box'' or an L Guard: For male batsmen and wicket-keepers (often referred to as a cup, box or abdo guard). It is usually constructed from high density plastic with a padded edge, shaped like a hollow. half-pear, and inserted into the jockstrap with cup pocket underwear of the batsmen and wicket-keeper. This is used to protect the crotch area against impact from the ball.
