i. Let p = 3, q = 5, r = 7
p × q × r + 1
= 3 × 5 × 7 + 1
= 105 + 1
= 106
Since 106 = 2 × 53, it is a composite number.
ii. Let p = 2, q = 3, r = 5
p × q × r + 1
= 2 × 3 × 5 + 1
= 30 + 1
= 31
∴ 31 is a prime number.
