Western Ghats are high and steep and all along the western coasts there are numerous streams with small catchment areas. There are also a number of lagoons, backwaters and small lakes.
उत्तर २
The western coast has fewer rivers than the eastern coast, with only Narmada and Tapi having no deltas where they meet the sea. On the eastern side, rivers such as Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri, and Mahanadi have both a delta and extensive alluvial formations when they reach the sea. The Western Ghats mountains have created narrow coastal land, whereas rivers and alluvial plains have expanded on the eastern side of the terminated Eastern Ghats.
