Elders and mentors have already faced the obstacles we are just beginning to encounter; their “easy advice” is actually a shortcut to avoiding painful mistakes.

While it is true that not everyone is your well-wisher, it is equally true that our own hearts can be misled by temporary emotions, peer pressure, or lack of knowledge. A well-wisher, like a parent or a teacher, provides an objective perspective that our “heart” might miss.

Furthermore, being the master of your own fate does not mean working in isolation. A true master is one who gathers all available data and expert opinions before making a move. If we only learn to take our own decisions without listening to others, we risk becoming arrogant and narrow-minded. In reality, combining your inner passion with the proven wisdom of others is the surest way to reach your goals.

Ultimately, life is too short to learn everything only from your own mistakes. Listening to advice isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of maturity.
