उत्तर
Given, milk in can = `5 1/2` L
= `((5 xx 2) + 1)/2`
= `(10 + 1)/2`
= `11/2` L
If `3/4` L is sold to Renu, Kamla and Renuka.
Then, total milk sold = `3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4`
= `(3 + 3 + 3)/4`
= `9/4` L
Milk sold to Shadma = `7/8` L
Milk sold to Jassi = `1 1/2` L
= `((1 xx 2) + 1)/2`
= `3/2` L
Total milk sold = `9/4 + 7/8 + 3/2`
= `(18 + 7 + 12)/8`
= `37/2` L
∴ Total milk left in can = `11/2 - (37/8)`
= `(44 - 37)/8`
= `7/8` L ...[∵ LCM of 2 and 8 = 8]
Hence, `7/8` L milk is left in the can.
