By cross multiplication on both sides, we get

`1xx(x+1)=x xx(1+h)`

`x+1=x+hx`

`x+1-x=hx`

`cancelx+1-cancelx=hx`

`1=xh`

`1/h=x`

Hence the value of x is `1/h`.
