Work in groups of four; decide where to set up the camp, and the materials you will use. Be prepared to justify your choices to the rest of the class.

We would set up our camp near the eastern cave (C). It is a good place because it provides natural shelter and is close to fresh water, fruit trees and bamboo.

We would use bamboo, branches, leaves and stones to make the camp comfortable and safe. We could use the bamboo for making simple shelters and tools and leaves for covering the roof.

We would avoid the swamp, beach and mountains because they may be unsafe. The cave would also protect us from rain, wind and wild animals. Therefore, this is the safest and most useful place for our camp.
