उत्तर

 x is chosen from the numbers 1, 2, 3 and y is chosen from the numbers 1, 4, 9

TO FIND: Probability of getting  `P(xy)<9`

We will make multiplication table for and y such that `(xy)<9`

=`xy=1xx1=1`

=`1xx4=4`

=`1xx9=9`

=`2xx1=2`

=`2xx9=18`

=`3xx1=3`

=`3xx4=12`

=`3xx9=27`

So the numbers such that `(xy)<9` is 5

`"We know that PROBABILITY" =  "Number of favourable event"/"Total number of event"`

Hence  `P(xy <9)=5/9`
