2. Genetic Drift is a sudden change in the frequency of genes and their alleles within a gene pool of a population over a very short duration of time. A population experiencing such a phenomenon will also not obey the Hardy-Weinberg principle. Genetic drift can occur due to natural or artificial selection alike.
