उत्तर
Formation of social norms happens when usual personal rules or habits are not enough to handle new or unclear situations. People begin to observe others and repeat behaviours that seem acceptable or common. Through this repetition, a shared standard develops. These norms are learned during the process of socialization, especially from family, school, peers, and culture. Norms can be:
- Descriptive norms – what most people do.
- Injunctive norms – what people believe should or should not be done.
Over time, these repeated patterns of behaviour become accepted social norms that help maintain order and unity in society.
