The judiciary should be organised in a way that ensures independence, fairness, and efficiency. In democratic countries like India, the UK, and the USA, the judiciary is separate from the legislature and executive, which helps protect justice and the rule of law.

• In India, the judiciary has a single integrated system. The Supreme Court is the highest authority, followed by High Courts and District Courts. It applies both Union and State laws.
• In the USA, there is a dual judicial system:
  • Federal Courts – for federal laws
  • State Courts – for state-specific laws
    The US Supreme Court is the apex body.
• In the UK, the judiciary is also independent and follows a unitary and integrated system. The UK Supreme Court is the highest court for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
