उत्तर

Phloem transports food materials from the leaves to different parts of the plant. The transport of food in the phloem requires energy from ATP to load sugars into the sieve tubes. This increases the osmotic pressure, causing water to enter the phloem. The resulting pressure moves food from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure, according to the plant’s needs.
