उत्तर
A waterfall is formed due to large differences in the rate of erosion. When a river flows over a layer of hard rock and then reaches a softer rock underneath, the softer rock erodes more quickly, creating a vertical drop. This drop is the waterfall. At the base of the waterfall, a plunge pool may develop as the water continues to erode the soft rock. Over time, this process leads to the formation of a waterfall.
