उत्तर १
Accumulated waste easily becomes the breeding ground of mosquitoes, houseflies, rodents etc which can lead to the spread of many diseases like dengue, malaria, plague etc. Further, during the rainy season, wastes may flow down into the river or a small stream and pollute it with plastics and other waste materials. When this water is consumed by human beings, it can cause various diseases.
उत्तर २
The accumulation of waste damages the environment by causing extensive pollution in the air, water, and soil ecosystems. Open dumping grounds degrade the landscape and release methane gas, which contributes to global warming. During monsoon season, moisture washes hazardous leachate from waste dumps into rivers and groundwater, harming aquatic habitats. Furthermore, non-biodegradable plastics can persist in the topsoil for centuries, diminishing fertility and preventing natural rainwater percolation.
