उत्तर
- The electrochemical series is a list of elements (or electrodes) arranged in increasing order of their standard reduction potentials. As we move down the series, the standard reduction potential increases, meaning the tendency to gain electrons (i.e., get reduced) also increases.
- Thus, elements at the bottom of the series have a stronger tendency to gain electrons and act as strong oxidising agents, while those at the top have a lower tendency to gain electrons and act as strong reducing agents.
