उत्तर

  1. In our surroundings, we see objects of different colours. Colour perception is the ability of the eye to recognize and respond to these colours.
  2. It is because of colour perception that we are able to identify and differentiate between various colours.
  3. The cone-shaped cells present in the retina respond to different colours in bright light and send signals to the brain about the colours of the image formed on the retina. This enables us to recognize the actual colours of objects.
  4. If the cone-shaped cells responsible for detecting certain colours are absent in a person's retina, that person cannot distinguish those colours. As a result, the person has defective or absent colour perception.
