2.	The theory is based on an internal vital force, new needs, and the use or disuse of organs.	Does not give any importance to these factors.
3.	Environmental change brings conscious reaction in organisms.	The changed environment directly affects organisms.
4.	Acquired characteristics are passed on to the next generation.	Only modifications that affect the germ cells are passed on to the next generation.
5.	Example: Development of a giraffe’s long neck due to continuous stretching.	Example: Environmental influences producing heritable variations in organisms.
