From the figure hypotenuse and one side are equal in both the triangles

RHS congruency criterion is used ...(∵ Considering ∆ABC and ∆BAD)

∠A = ∠B = 90°

AD = BC

AB = AB ...(common)

∴ AC = BD ...(hypotenuse)
