Here, the highest frequency is 14, therefore the modal class is 35 – 40.

So, l = 35, f₁ = 14, f₀ = 5, f₂ = 8 and h = 5

Now, Mode (M₀) = `l + ((f_1 - f_0)/(2f_1 + f_0 - f_2)) xx h`

= `35 + ((14 - 5)/(28 - 5 - 8)) xx 5`

= `35 + 9/15 xx 5`

= `35 + 45/15`

= 35 + 3

= 38
