उत्तर

Sodium chloride (an ionic solid) does not conduct electricity in its solid form. The anions (chloride Cl) and cations (sodium Na+) maintain their position in the crystal lattice due to strong electrostatic attraction. Ions cannot move much when the electric field changes. As a result, no current passes through.
