उत्तर

Nitric acid is a powerful oxidising agent. So as soon as hydrogen gas is produced due to the action of nitric acid on metals, it oxidises hydrogen to form water and reduces itself to nitrogen oxides. Hence hydrogen gas is not liberated in the reaction.
