उत्तर

Forms of degradation due to industrial pollution:

  1. Water pollution: The most common form of pollution is caused by industrial waste dumping or inappropriate waste contamination, resulting in leakage into groundwater and waterways. Water pollution poisons rivers, lakes, and ponds, posing a serious threat to aquatic life.
  2. Air pollution: Industrial pollution may affect air quality and soil, leading to significant environmental issues. Air pollution is mostly caused by smoke from the burning of coal and mineral oil in homes and factories. This emits SO2, CO2, CO, smoke, and soot, contaminating the air. Air pollution is among the most common and dangerous types of pollution.
  3. Soil pollution: Industrial waste, both solid and liquid, is dumped on soil. Scrap, effluents, sludge, flyash, and radioactive waste all add harmful substances to the soil.
  4. Noise Pollution: Industries produce excessive noise that disrupts communication, pleasure, and relaxation. Noise pollution can result in hearing damage. Heavy-duty machinery is contributing to the increase.
