Merit-based promotions offer the following benefits:

1. Promotions based on merit encourage workers to perform better. The youthful and aspirational staff members are motivated to advance their abilities and productivity.
2. Employees performance will be evaluated in order to determine their merit. Such an evaluation will highlight shortcomings that can be fixed with more instruction.
3. A company can only succeed if its people are competent. Employee motivation and job satisfaction are higher under merit-based promotion. Profits and productivity will therefore probably increase.
