Explain the use of video RAM.

1. The video RAM is basically the memory that the terminal hardware itself has.
2. Anytime all characters stored in the video RAM are displayed on the screen by the video controller using display electronics.
3. All particular information (attributes) are stored in video RAM.
4. Video RAM consists of 2000 data bytes (0 to 1999) preceded by 2000 corresponding attribute bytes (0 to 1999) as shown in figure.
5. A typical alphanumeric screen can display 25 lines, each consisting of 80 characters, i.e., 25 × 80 = 2000 characters.
