उत्तर

Although the British Monarch today functions largely as a constitutional figurehead, there are still some traditional rights that are considered part of the Royal Prerogative. These are often summarised as the three key rights:

  1. The Right to be Consulted: The monarch has the right to be regularly informed and advised on matters of state. The Prime Minister meets the monarch (usually weekly) to brief them on current government issues. While the monarch does not take part in political decisions, they listen and may offer advice in private.
  2. The Right to Encourage: The monarch may encourage or support policies proposed by the elected government. This is done indirectly through symbolic actions, speeches, or public appearances, without political interference. It helps strengthen the morale and unity of the nation.
  3. The Right to Warn: Perhaps the most subtle and significant right, this allows the monarch to caution or advise the Prime Minister against decisions that may be unwise. Though not binding, such counsel is based on experience and tradition and often carries moral weight.
